Crime Stoppers says credit card thief spent thousands in Sugar Land

Harris County authorities are asking the public to help them catch a woman
who used stolen credit cards to make purchases totaling $4,500 last
November.

The victim reported the cards stolen from her purse on Nov. 22, 2010,
according to Crime Stoppers. She soon found out the suspect had gone on a
fast but expensive shopping spree.

"When the suspect stole the credit cards, [the] first thing she did was go
to the gas station to put gas in her vehicle, then went to the First Colony
area in Sugar Land and went shopping, spending $4,500" says Sandra Rodriguez
of Crime Stoppers. "The laptop at the Apple Store was the most expensive
item she purchased," at about $2,800, Rodriguez says.

The victim's credit-card statements show the suspect also stopped at Honey
Baked Ham, Carter's, Home Goods, and Lowe's, Rodriguez says.

Surveillance cameras at multiple stores recorded the suspect and her
vehicle. She is described as a black female, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-7 to
5-foot-9, with a slender build. Her vehicle is described as a while SUV.

Anyone with information on this suspect can reach Crime Stoppers at
713-222-8477.
