Foster High student earns internship with U.S. Surgeon General
Stephanie Tsai, of Foster High School, was one of 10 high school students in the country selected by Future Health Professionals and the Office of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps to participate in a HOSA internship with the United States Office of the Surgeon General in Washington, D.C.
The internship, which is designed to give students the opportunity to enhance knowledge, refine professional capabilities and increase awareness of the infrastructure, operations and responsibilities of the OSG and United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
Interns will shadow OSG staff, taking on a project that furthers the mission and priorities of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Tsai will participate in the internship from Aug. 13-17. She finished first in epidemiology at the Texas State HOSA Conference in 2011 and fourth at the national HOSA Convention.
